Culture Night at CIT Cork School of Music

On Friday night, 21 September 2018, young musicians who will represent the CIT Cork School of Music in the prestigious Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year 2018 Competition to be held in Dublin in October, will perform their programmes in a concert offered as the CIT Cork School of Music contribution to Culture Night. These young musicians are extraordinarily gifted and this concert will be one of the highlights of the year.

They will perform music by a great variety of composers; from classical to contemporary. The concert will take place in the Curtis Auditorium, starting at 8pm.

Free guided tours of the building. From 7pm – 8pm

Live music in the foyer. From 7pm – 8pm


An exhibition by Irish Photographer Shane Clancy, Inspired by William Blake’s poem, To See a World. Shane uses his camera to do the “seeing” to capture a brief moment in time. With this exhibition he explores the different perspectives of the environments we inhabit. From 7pm-10pm

Open Rehearsal  – CSM Youth Vocal Ensemble

The CSM Youth Vocal Ensemble is an award winning choir for 14 – 18 years open to both male and female voices. The choir sings a range of repertoire, including pop arrangements, musical theatre, barbershop and classical pieces.  This open rehearsal will give young singers the chance to meet like-minded peers, sing  great music and have some fun. The rehearsal will take place in room 312 in CIT Cork School of Music on Union Quay. From 5.30pm to 6.45pm.
