The exhibition will be opened by Karen Hennessey, CEO of The Design and Crafts Council of Ireland at 6 p.m on Thursday 2nd August.

The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5 pm, including Saturday 4 August 10 - 5pm 


The Gallery at No.46 Grand Parade presents Showcase 2018, an exhibition of works from Cork Craft and Designs leading makers, it is an annual event that occurs as part of Cork Craft Month. “Turn to the Ordinary” is the title for this years Showcase. Curated by Róisín Foley, the exhibition highlights the poetics of the everyday.

The exhibition features; Martha McGuire, Luke Sisk, Martin Horgan, John O’Shea, Mary Palmer, Cian O’Driscoll, Paul Hickey, Silverstone Dimensions, Joanna Kaminska of Jokamin Designs, Ioana Cretu, Jenti Forest and Mr. Kite.

The exhibition explores the relationships of maker, material and environment and how such relationships influence the design and creation of works. Works have been chosen for this exhibition that conveys the maker’s conscious efforts through material process and/or design to create pieces that enhance or draw attention to our experience of the everyday. “Turn to the Ordinary” covers a range of works by makers who utilise both traditional and contemporary craft and design making techniques. Textile, ceramic, woodworking and illustration are but some of a wide range of media on display consisting of both decorative and functional works.
