CIT Arts Office are delighted to present this screening event at the Rory Gallagher Theatre, CIT Bishopstown Campus, in memory of the late Martin O'Dwyer. The film's producer Sinéad O Riordan, who also has an acting role, studied Electronic Engineering in RTC Cork (CIT) and started acting in this theatre with Martin, who was instrumental in the establishment of the theatre.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with members of the production team and cast, including Writer/Director Maurice O'Carroll, Producer Sinéad O Riordan, actors Ciarán Bermingham and Kevin McCormack. The session will be chaired by Mick Hannigan, IndieCork Festival programmer.

A brilliant opportunity for anyone interested in getting involved in making films to ask about aspects of the process, and the challenges that can be overcome.

The debut feature film from writer director Maurice O'Carroll, a co-production between ORion Productions and Burnt Ice Pictures, made on a budget of only €10,000, has been making a big impact at film festivals in Ireland and abroad since its release in 2016. It has won numerous prizes since its premier at the Galway Film Fleadh on 6 July 2016, and was one of the first independent Irish films there that sold out within hours.

It then went on to open the IndieCork Film Festival in October 2016. Following fast in the footsteps of the Galway Film Fleadh, the screening instantly sold out. The film won Best Independent Feature at the Underground Cinema Film Festival in Dún Laoghaire and then announced a limited theatrical release where it had its theatrical premiere in the Gate Cinema in Cork City.

Donald Clarke of the The Irish Times commented saying the film was "A dead ringer for Tarantino, in a good way."

In March 2017, "Dead Along The Way" had its United States Premiere at the Chicago International Film Festival, and was selected for the Boston Irish Film Festival.
