Green Day's American Idiot | Feb 23rd-25th |
CIT Cork School of Music | Curtis Auditorium
The upcoming performances of the CIT Musical Society show Green Day’s American Idiot are not to be missed.
American Idiot tells the story of three wannabe rebels who are desperate to escape their mundane lives in everyday surburbia and features well-known hits such as “Good Riddance”, “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and, of course, the title-number “American Idiot”. Directed by Katrina Foley, with musical direction by Tom Doyle and choreography by Sinead McGee.
“From one hit to another, the audience is fed ninety minutes of uninterrupted chaos as the show crashes through the barriers of the traditional musical set-up … with its wit and warmth it wins over theatregoers.”
Rachel Ward, The Telegraph, London's Hammersmith Apollo, 2015.

CIT Musical Society was founded in 2011 as a way to give students of CIT opportunities to experience and explore musical theatre in a fun, social, and positive way. While being a member of the Musical Society, the students work with industry professionals both on stage and off – not only in performing, but in technical and managerial roles, gaining practical experience in multiple fields. The CIT Musical Society fosters a real sense of family and teamwork, bringing people together through a mutual love of theatre and the performing arts.
