In this adaptation by Peadar Donohoe, Mrs. Flanagan's English Drama class are staging Pride and Prejudice.  As they perform the play, the young people get to grips with 18th century values and oratory eloquence. Hilarious discussions ensue where they unlock the themes of this comedy of manners and relate them to their own lives.

Featuring the music of Mozart, this production of Pride and Prejudice will be performed by the talented actors of CIT Cork School of Music’s Youth Theatre. Their energy, exuberance and love of this classic story will make this a performance to remember.

Note from the director Peadar Donohoe: “Pride and Prejudice is one of the most loved novels of all time.  It is very romantic and funny.  In crafting this adaptation I’ve honoured both of these elements with maybe more of leaning towards the comedy.  I’ve found that working with young actors and comedy works extremely well.  Young people have a natural vivacity, are full of energy and have a love of fun that makes working on comedies with them a pure joy and allows them to shine as actors.  Also, I’ve weaved the music of Mozart into the soundtrack of this production.  Mozart always puts me in high spirits and I think his music mirrors the joyful energy of this production.”
