Are you looking for some Christmas festive cheer?

Then come along and lose yourself in the fabulous setting of the CIT Cork School of Music in the company of Cork based vocal ensemble Madrigal '75 (Director: James Taylor) on Thursday December 19 at 8pm.

Tickets €10-€22 available from Pro Musica and at the door.                                                                 Admission price includes refreshments and festive fayre.

Described as one of Ireland's finest chamber choirs, Madrigal '75 has been awarded many accolades over the years, more recently winning the Lyric FM Carol Competition 2012 as well as highest placed choir in the mixed voiced category and Grand Prix Finalist in the 2013 Montreux International Choral Festival, Switzerland.

Past Christmas performances by Madrigal '75 in the Cork Orchestral Society Concert series have been performed to sellout audiences with many favourable reviews. This year's programme Noel Nouvelet is an eclectic mix of old and new - there is something for everyone! Well-known classics such as In the Bleak Midwinter, Silent Night, Ding Dong Merrily on High and John Rutter's humorous Shepherd's Pipe Carol combine with the less familiar, but equally appealing, new and exciting works such as an evocative setting of Sara Teasdale's poem Stars performed with tuned wine glasses and percussion; and a quirky piece imitating the sounds of harsh cold winter and breaking ice.

The concert also features instrumentalists who have lectured/studied at the CIT Cork School of Music: Colin Nicholls (organ), Caoimhe de Paor and Sophie Creamer (recorders).

After the enchanting, candle-lit concert, you are invited for complimentary Christmas refreshments and festive fayre in the foyer.
