GuitaRlAM, the Royal Irish Academy of Music guitar ensemble was founded in 2011 by its director Marion Hyland, Emeritus Professor of Guitar at RIAM. The ensemble is largely made up of past and present graduate guitar students. It's aim is to explore the possibilities of a larger guitar group and it's repertoire and most importantly to have fun!!

GuitaRlAM have performed in all the major concert venues in Dublin, NCH, John Field Room, and Kevin Barry Room, Trinity College Chapel and Senior common room TCD, Dublin Writers Museum and some notable sellout performances have been in The National Gallery of Ireland, 2018 with the renowned Chinese guitarist Xuefei Yang and in The Freemasons Hall, 2019 again with Xuefei Yang to celebrate The Chinese New Year, giving a first performance in Ireland of " China Sings" guitar concerto by Gerald Garcia.

The ensemble was given the great honour of presenting the first performance of a new work April Song by the now late celebrated composer/guitarist Roland Dyens. Commissioned by the Guitar Festival of Ireland for GuitaRlAM to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the festival httos://youtu.be/ O4tI0TPrI6o.GuitaRIAM was very honoured to have Roland Dyens conduct its first performance at Wood Quay Venue.
