Breathe! Everyone has to breathe! As part of the Cork Lifelong Learning Festival CAFE Cork Flute Ensemble present a performance/workshop of four inspired and inspiring new works for flute ensemble from around the world.

Using the full flute family from the piccolo to the contrabass flute these pieces from Bosnia to Appalachia, Bolivia to Melbourne will take you on a journey of discovery and imagination.

CAFE is a flute ensemble/ choir based in MTU Cork School of Music that meets weekly to play music for multiple flutes. Members come from all across the community, local and international, all ages are welcome from 18 +

About Cafe

CAFE - Cork’s Amazing Flute Ensemble is made up of amateur and professional flute players who enjoy making music together and share a passion for the flute in all its forms.The members are staff and students from MTU and UCC and Cork ETB as well as latecomers to the flute or those that maybe played the flute when they were younger and have reconnected with music. 

For over 10 years they have been meeting once a week in the MTU Cork School of Music and usually perform 3-4 times per year. Past performances include appearances in charity concerts for Breast Cancer Ireland, St Vincent de Paul, Brighter Communities and Pieta House as well as regular performances in the School of Music. 

As well as arrangements of popular musicals and classical masterpieces they are active in working with composers to create new works.
