ARTISTS EXHIBITING WORKS BASED ON THE HUMAN BODY:
MONIKA ŽALTE LITHUANIA
Monika Žaltauskaitė Grašienė is Lecturer in Textiles at the Kaunas faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts, and an active visual artist with many international exhibitions and curatorial roles. She is a Speaker at MAKE 2021.
Monika Žalte will exhibit a largescale panel of photographic digital jacquard weaving, titled SAFE, showing a hand-held baby.
EGLĖ GANDA BOGDANIENĖ LITHUANIA
Eglė Ganda Bogdanienė is Lecturer in Textiles at Vilnius Academy of Arts. She is also an acclaimed and internationally recognised artist, writer, curator, and currently Chair of the Lithuanian Art Association. She is a speaker at MAKE 2021.
Eglė Ganda Bogdanienė will exhibit a series of felted baby sculptures in wool, entitled BIRTH.
LORRAINE PARKER CCAD. Year 4 BA Contemporary Applied Arts 2020-21
Lorraine Parker will show two works of hair imagery under glass, using a variety of fibres, materials, and found objects: DISSECTING THE SHREW, and HYBRID.
JENNIFER NG CCAD Graduate Resident in Textiles 2020-21; BA Contemporary Applied Art 2020.
Jennifer Ng will show a suspended cast silk, paper, and wire female torso work, entitled, SURRENDER.
IN ADDITION, LARGE COLLAGES WILL SHOWCASE THE RESEARCH IMAGERY OF BODY PROJECT DEVELOPED BY:
ART TEXTILE CLASS CCAD: Each student chose a body part for conceptual and material studies across a range of textile processes in Semester 1.
THEATRE AND PERFORMATIVE STUDIES CLASS, UCC: Theatre students accessed and used these sketchbooks as performance scores to inspire movement works in Semester 2.
BODY PROJECT was also followed concurrently in VILNIUS ACADEMY OF ART Textile Departments in Academic Year 2020-21.
