CCAD Art in the Making ¦ Pop up Exhibition

Date: 10th May 2013 - 11th May 2013
Time: 1-6pm Friday 10-6pm Saturday
Venue: Wandesford Quay Gallery

Art in the Making is a student led initiative of weekly half-hour sessions of collaborative making, gorilla art, exhibition visits etc!
Art in the Making is an open discussion forum on art and art practice which seeks to disestablish the rigid formality of traditional lecture and discussion group format. The aim of the group is non specific, with the emphasis being more on the process of discussion, creativity and fun.

The sessions will run for 7 weeks, meeting for half an hour, each Tuesday at 12.30.

The focus of the meeting may be a visiting artist, a work of art, a topic of interest, the previous meeting etc. but ultimately the session is entirely in the hands of those who participate!

This year Lismore Catle Arts hosted the launch of Art in the Making where NCAD & CCAD students colaborated to make site specific works. CCAD graduates gave talks about their practice and the day was rounded off with a pot luck banquet and gig by Mark Buckeridge in Pugin Banquetting Hall.

There were 7 Art in the Making Sessions this year, sessions included performance, art games and drawing. The exhibition will display both documentation and works made in the sessions.

Opening reception 1pm - 3pm Friday May 10th
