Rubblebubble: Prelude to Concrete Keys

8th to 18th October

The Gallery at No. 46 Grand Parade

Rubblebubble is a sister installation work to Concrete Keys, Bourke’s upcoming experimental feature that poetically examines the individual’s place in a rapidly transforming vision of institutional society. This installation is constructed using segments of Concrete Keys and additional material gathered during the filming process. Featuring Coneface, Bourke’s performance alter ego, the work was primarily shot in the old Cork Tax office and includes demolition footage of this local Brutalist landmark. Rubblebubble is a surreal and playful creation tracing a line between the quotidian and phantasmal.
