Great to see MTU CSM students, staff and alumni involved in Ireland's first musical theatre performance since March 2020.

WEST SIDE STORY in Concert at Bord Gais Energy Theatre


Great to see MTU Cork School of Music involvement in This concert performance of WEST SIDE STORY will be the first in-house production and the first performance in front of a live audience in nearly 18 months at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.

The two scheduled performances on Sunday 1 August will employ 71 industry professionals including an exciting cast of established Irish musical theatre performers and a new generation of rising stars!


With the following Cork School of Music BMus & MA alumni, staff & students:

Paul Dunlea -  Trombone, Paul Frost - Trombone, Cormac O hAodhain -  French Horn, Brendan Doyle - Saxes / Clar / Flute, Nicky Bailey - Percussion, Colm O Regan - Keys, Kevin Rowe - Guitars, David Mc Ilroy - Violin.  Phoebe Dipple and Sinead O Donovan / CSM Lecturer - David Hayes as Musical Director, and Michael Riordan, on Double Bass.

 Also involved were industry mentors on our BA Music Theatre degree: Alex Glennon & Brian Murray, and recent associate industry performers with both our BAPM and BAMT degrees - Michael Joseph & Rob Vickers

The curtain may have been down since March 2020, but the show must, and will - go on! Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is thrilled to announce a special concert of the much- loved musical, WEST SIDE STORY.  Supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media as part of the pilot Live Performance Support Scheme, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre are delighted to welcome back a limited live audience for two socially distanced performances only, on Sunday 1st August 2021.
