CCAD & CSM playing an important role as part of MTU's International Women's Day Celebration Event.

Great online event held by MTU empowering women committee to celebrate the important contribution being made by the female staff students and alumni of MTU.

It was an important markers to make for this year's celebration.

With a great insight and contributions given by speaker Crawford College of Art & Design Alumnus & MTU Access Officer Traveller Coordinator Leanne McDonagh, IWD2021 Ambassadors Roseleen Moore (Crawford Supported Studios), Pamela Hardesty CCAD Textiles Tutor, and a beautiful tribute to MTU Cork School of Music (CSM) Alumus and International renowned Saprano Cara O' Sullivan.

"Rise", composed and performed by MTU CSM BA in Popular Music students Leah Hartnett, Julianne Quirke, and Grace Wood, to celebrate our first International Women's Day as Munster Technological University.

The committee put together an amazing showcase of our MTU community; the compilation of ambassador video clips featuring 30 of MTU’s own female role models;  MTU on the Frontline of COVID-19; messages of support from inspirational women, nationally and internationally; MTU graduate industry videos; Blackrock Castle Observatory COVID 19 Mask Project, tribute to Cara O’Sullivan and the beautifully produced artistic contributions from the CCSM and CCAD.  All of the above will be available to view on the website over the coming days. Thank you to the production team of Philip O’Reilly, Jessica Dennison, Emily Twomey and to Sarah Morey for acting as MC for the event.
