Cork Midsummer and CIT collaboration in 2017 festival.

Cork Midsummer Festival is Cork City’s an annual multi-disciplinary arts festival, and there will be significant engagement with CIT for this years festival.

Arriving on Midsummer’s Day, Museum of the Moon by Luke Jerram will fill the Nexus, Student Centre, CIT Bishopstown Campus. This project will coincide with the International Space University’s 30th Annual Space Studies Programme (SSP17) which will be hosted by CIT from June 26th – August 25th, as well as celebrating the magic of Midsummer -

As part of the Cork Printmakers symposium and exhibition trail First Edition, the CIT Wandesford Quay Gallery will host Babel Unbound, Jason Urban & Leslie Mutchler (USA), 17 June – 8 July -

CIT Crawford College of Art & Design, Sharman Crawford St Campus will play host to a talk by multidisciplinary artist Luke Jerram on the 20st June at 6pm as part of the City of Idea’s.

CIT School of Music, Union Quay will host Toilers. Suzanne R Day's lost play which will be reconstructed by Painted Bird: "Three young women are determined to remake the world. They start by reconstructing a lost play".

As well as CIT staff and alumni involvement; CIT CSM graduates Al Dalton and Sadhbh Barrett Coakley, (ALSA Productions), will present a work-in-progress showing in the TDC, Triskel Arts Centre. Swim/Stroke, an intimate exploration of one woman's experience of surviving a stroke and defying the odds to regain her strength and independence.

And Alex Petcu - performing as part of Front Of House at the Cork Opera House, and HomeSpace at St. Peters Church with fellow CIT CCAD graduates Claire Guerin, and Brian Mac Domhnaill.

A project between Cork Printmakers in association with Cork Midsummer Festival are delighted to present BALLOT, a printmaking portfolio collaboration between staff, alumni and students from CIT Crawford College of Art & Design, Norwich University of the Arts, and Norwich UK with invited partners Print to the People in Norwich, Cork Printmakers and Limerick School of Art & Design.
Catherine Hehir, BA Hons. Fine Art Course Coordinator, CIT Crawford College of Art & Design, will present at the FIRST EDITION - A Print Symposium hosted by Cork Printmakers presents at Millennium Hall, City Hall, Cork.
