Tweetbox and ESCAPE SHIFT - Collaborative Practice in Print between CIT CCAD & LSAD

28 April, 2016

Tweetbox is the outcome of a collaboration between CIT Crawford College of Art and Design and Limerick College of Art and Design. The project sought to engage undergraduate students, postgraduate students, alumni and lecturers from each college to respond to TWEETBOX. The title is a play on the pervasive and ubiquitous tweet and we chose the birdbox for its many associations with migration, emigration, communication and germination. The concept focuses on the development and spread of information globally, how it impact and invades our lives. We asked the artists to consider this meaning in its broadest sense.

ESCAPE SHIFT is a collaborative venture by artists Catherine Hehir and Noelle Noonan that explores the often seismic changes incurred on the landscape, when landscape stands in - more generally - for the modern experience. Although the collaborative process helps unhinge divisions pertaining to media, ESCAPE SHIFT is a focused, at times poetic, mediation on the relationship between printmaking and the act of digital communication.
