CIT Cork School of Music Student Wins RDS Music Bursary

01 May, 2014

Huge congratulations to CIT Cork School of Music student Clara Daly Donnellan, the youngest ever winner of the 2014 RDS Music Bursary.  The 18 year old trombone player from Cork city was awarded the 10k Bursary at the RDS this evening (30 April).

There were 9 candidates for this year's Bursary, and six of them were from Cork! Some great music teaching going on in Cork.

Clara won the Yahama Brass Bursary at this year's ESB Feis Ceoil and she'll be performing tomorrow night (May 1) at the Gala Concert at the NCH.

Here are all 6 Cork candidates at this evening's event. (Clara is the one with the trombone!) Pictured below are the 6 Cork candidates at last night's event (all six having won major competitions at this year's Feis Ceoil to qualify for the RDS Bursary Competition):

(Left to right): Sophie Creaner (clarinet), Gary Beecher (piano), Ed Creedon (viola), Elaine Kelly (conductor), Clara Daly-Donnelan (trombone), and Eugene Alves (cello).
