Performed by two of the country’s leading percussionists Alex Petcu and Tomas Gall, Moiety is a live electro-acoustic work with interactive visuals, lighting and tape using motion capturing technology which feeds information into projectors shining live visuals on the performers. It’s about exploring the division in society, the collision and the unification.

Tomas Gall, a fusion jazz drummer, and Alex Petcu, a classical percussion specialist, explore the full palette of expression possible between their instruments, electronics and each other. Eat My Noise is a multi-platform collaborative group founded in 2010 by the composers Peter Power and David Duffy, and now produced by Irene O’Mara. They presented their large-scale ensemble work A:Volution as part of the 2012 Cork Midsummer Festival.

MUSIC COLLECTIVE “EAT MY NOISE” PREMIERES NEW MUSIC AT CORK MIDSUMMER FESTIVAL 2013

Eat My Noise, one of Ireland’s most ambitious new music companies, presents brand new show Moiety from 28th to 30th June, at the Stack Theatre in CIT Cork School of Music, as part of this year’s Cork Midsummer Festival.

Composed by Eat My Noise’s Peter Power & David Duffy, Moiety is live electro-acoustic odyssey for two virtuosic percussionists – Tomas Gall, a fusion jazz drummer, and Alex Petcu, a classical percussion specialist. In addition to the sounds, Moiety also features live and interactive visuals and lighting on the performers using motion-capture technology.

Moiety is about exploring the division in society, its collision and its unification, says Peter Power of Eat My Noise. It’s about presenting the full palette of expression possible between their instruments, electronics and each other.”

Eat My Noise is a multi-platform collaborative group founded in 2010 by the composers Peter Power and David Duffy, and now produced by Irene O’Mara. Moiety is Eat My Noise’s third show - previous work including Any Room Producer as part of Home Festival in April 2012 and a large-scale ensemble work A:Volution at Cork Midsummer Festival 2012.

“Everyone was talking about A:Volution, Eat My Noise’s hugely ambitious contribution to last year’s Festival, said Tom Creed, Director of Cork Midsummer Festival. “I’m delighted to welcome them back with a new work which may be more modest in scale, but promises to be no less ambitious, featuring two of Cork’s finest musicians”.

Moiety is being presented as part of the WE LIVE HERE: New work from Cork platform of Cork Midsummer Festival 2013.
