Are We There Yet? | CIT CCAD 3rd Year Exhibition opens 31st May

26 May, 2013

Are We There Yet? , an ambitious collaborative exhibition organised by 3rd year students of Fine Art at the CIT Crawford College of Art & Design, opens this Friday 31st May at a vacant commercial space on Half Moon Street, Cork City.

The exhibition features the work of over 60 artists, and will include a programme of performances and other events during the week.

Spokesperson and exhibition director Eamonn Shanahan introduces the project:

"Traditionally third year students from the Crawford College of Art and Design have hosted an independent exhibition. As third-year students, we feel it is vital to continue in the tradition to focus and exhibit work. The exhibition has been regarded as one of the annual highlights in the artistic endeavors in Cork city. It provides an insight into the evolution of the expertise of our students and has provided a springboard to the careers of many students in the past. We feel that this tradition should not be lost but embraced."

Located next to Boots and across the street from the Half Moon Theatre, Cork Opera House, and Crawford Art Gallery, this large and uncompleted space has yet to find a commercial occupant.
