Annual series of CIT Degree Exhibitions about to open

The annual series of Degree Exhibitions at CIT brings you a remarkable opportunity to see work from Media Communications, Fine Art, Ceramic Design, Interior Architecture, and Architectural Technology; in venues at CIT campusses across the city.
Running in total for almost three weeks, the series opens next Thursday 30th May, with FULL SPECTRUM, a showcase of Media Communications Degree students at CIT Wandesford Quay Gallery.

A new website has been launched to bring together details of all the exhibitions, and there will also be a free bus service on Saturday 8th June to bring you around to each of the exhibition venues.


Two additional CIT student exhibitions are also running this month.

72 WEEKS LATER, a graphic design exhibition is now open at the Student Centre Gallery, Student Centre, CIT Bishopstown Campus. It will be open until Monday 27th May.

Are We There Yet? is an ambitious collaborative exhibition and event project developed by CIT CCAD 3rd year students of Fine Art & Ceramic Design. They have secured a large disused commercial space on Half Moon Street, and will open a week long programme on Friday 31st May, running until 7th June.

CIT CCAD Media Communications Department Degree Show 2013

CIT CCAD Media Communication Department, BA (Honours) in Visual Communications and Multimedia Final Year Student Exhibition, 2013

The BA (Honours) in Visual Communications and (a number of) the Multimedia graduate students from the Media Communications Department, CCAD, Cork Institute of Technology will be showcasing their work in the CIT Wandesford Quay Gallery from the 30th of May until the 8th of June.

Projects included in Visual Communication are; a campaign to get graduates motivated in getting a job they are qualified for; a celebration of how Irish people speak; an explanation of the Higgs Boson through design; and a  project aimed to help parents understand cyber -bullying;

In Multimedia: a real world interactive game based on Cork City Gaol; an interactive clock displaying videos of a prisoner's life, an app based tour of the Gaol, Augmented Reality Game for smartphone and an interactive holographic display.


Are We There Yet?  |  CIT CCAD 3rd Year Exhibition

An independent exhibition and event programme developed by 3rd Year students at CIT CCAD, opens on Friday 31st May at a temporary space on Half Moon Street.


LIMINAL  |  Fine Art & Ceramic Design

The 2013 CIT Crawford College of Art and Design Degree Show LIMINAL will run from 8th – 15th June. It will be held, as always, at the CCAD campus on Sharman Crawford Street. The opening ceremony on the evening of June 7th promises to be a lively event with numerous prizes and bursaries being awarded. Fifty students will show work in a variety of media including ceramics, glass, drawing, painting, print, film, photography, sculpture and installation.


IN + OUT   |  Interior Architecture and Architectural Technology

The students and staff of Cork Institute of Technology, Department of Architecture would like to invite you to the Opening Event of our 2013 Graduate exhibition, "In & Out".

"In and Out" will host CIT's final year student projects in the BSc (Honours) in Interior Architecture and Architectural Technology in Ireland's newest education facility - the Architecture Factory.

The Architecture Factory is one of the most exciting new education spaces in Ireland. It involved the repurposing of the former TYCO factory adjacent to CIT's Bishopstown Campus.  It is being launched with the 'In & Out' exhibition.


The 'In & Out' exhibition will open  on Friday the 6th of June from 6pm - 8pm. The event will consist of an exhibition of student projects. Refreshments provided.
