Gaining a place in the European Union Youth Orchestra is considered to be at least as difficult as getting a job in a professional orchestra! The following results are spectacular – congratulations to all! The results of the EUYO auditions for the 2013/14 tours have just been announced and several Cork musicians feature. David Kenny, current viola student with Simon Aspell, wins a place for the fourth year in succession! Sinéad O’Halloran, cello student with Chris Marwood, makes the Reserve List. Martha Campbell, viola student with Constantin Zanidache, and Louise Sullivan, French horn student with Seán Clinch, have both been included on the list of Final Round candidates to be encouraged. Former CIT CSM students in the lists are : Cillian Ó Ceallacháin, trombone, now studying in Glasgow, again wins a place in the orchestra. Aoife Burke, now studing in Manchester, wins a place in the cello section.
